We imagined Сarnival4David as a space of solidarity. It was held in more than 200 locations worldwide from Zuccotti Park NY, in Rojava, the ZAD in France, Korea, Austria, Berlin and London—Portobello Road—the place where David spent the last years of his life.

Intergalactic Memorial Carnival for David Graeber

This is an invitation to come together for a memorial carnival in the spirit of the one and only, David Graeber, who just left us so suddenly and unexpectedly. The invitation emerges from his wife Nika and a handful of his friends.
Inspired by the principle of the open mic of Occupy movement, we will be opening a space for folk to speak and share ideas together. We may read some of the favourite passages of David’s work and may share utopian ideas (and how to materialise them), poetry, discuss every day communism, anarchy and revolutionary action. This is inspired by David’s life and words and how we can embody them in a future that begins now – “live as if you were already free” – David would say. There is simple rule however: ‘bring a mask’(more carnival than covid style of course).
